My "Secrets"

I call them my secrets but really they are not mine at all. Here is just a list of the things that I do to save money:

1. Coupon!!! I subscribe to the Omaha World Herald only for Sundays to get my coupons. I also am going to start hosting a coupon exchange monthly for people to come and exchange coupons that they have gathered and do not need to trade for ones that they do need. Digital coupons are also great. I love coupons.com because a lot of the coupons that are in the ads on Sundays can also be printed here and you can usually print the same one a few times before you can't print it anymore.

2. Pricematcherz.com: this is a big one and is in many states across the US. They update (for my area anyways) every Wednesday and give you a list of what is on sale at the grocers in your area. LOVE THIS SITE!

3. Ibotta, Checkout 51, and Snap apps: These apps are awesome. All you do is look through the rebates, find the item in the store and VERIFY THAT IT IS THE ITEM (I say this because I made the mistake of not doing this), and then redeem the rebate in the apps to get your cash. Once you reach a certain amount, you can have the funds sent to your paypal account (or get gift cards) with Ibotta. With Checkout 51 and Snap, you can request a check when you reach $20. They also stack so say you have an Ibotta rebate for milk for 0.25 and a Snap rebate for milk for another 0.25. You can use BOTH for a total savings of 0.50!

4. Krazy Coupon Lady website: these ladies are my teachers. So far a lot of what I have learned I have gotten from them. Study their site and learn "the ways". They are awesome! Check it daily for new deals that pop up in stores.

5. Walmart app: Let's face it. Everyone hates Walmart. However, their app is amazing and makes it worth shopping there. Not only because they price match and take coupons, but every time you shop there, if you scan your receipt with the Savings Catcher feature, they will notify you if they found any deals that they missed. Do not think that this will replace the price matching option however because it is only an app. It can miss deals. You can also use the scanner on the app to scan an item while you shop and if it finds that item online cheaper, they will price match it as well. This works really good when shopping for gifts.

The last step that comes to mind at the moment is to MAKE SURE YOU PRINT WALMART'S PRICE MATCHING AND COUPONING POLICY! I put this in caps because I have had to deal with a rude cashier that didn't know the rules. Study them. Learn them. They are your go-to with crappy cashiers. There is also a lot of information in them that most new couponer/price matchers overlook such as the fact that Walmart does honor competitor coupons. For example you have a coupon that can only be used at Target. Walmart will honor it as well!
